Taking a look at the QCC: Special Guest Tracy Hurley

This month we're looking to make a splash with the Queen City Conquest. I'll be posting a variety of blurbs about games being run at the con, the people that will be there, interesting going ons, and answering any questions I am able to. To start this off I give you one of our guests, Tracy Hurley AKA Sarah Darkmagic.

Faery's Tale: Blood, Sweat, and Fears

I love the movie Willow, especially the brownies, and old shows like David the Gnome and the Smurfs. I wondered from time to time how I could play a game similar to those stories and in those worlds. Well now I can with Faery's Tale. I found a review on RPG.net by Christopher W. Richeson and the first paragraph describes this game so well so I thought I'd include it here:

Special Guest Phil Vecchione

I'm happy to announce that Phil Vecchione of the Ennie award winning Gnome Stew Game Master blog and writer for Engine Publishing is going to be one of the Special Guests attending the Queen City Conquest.

Ghostbusters: Pink Snow

"I ain't fraid of no ghost."

Cue the music, I know you know it, at least you do if you're a true child of the 80's. For those of you who aren't go find out what Venkman, Spengler, Stantz, and Zeddemore were up to back in the day and remember, if someone asks you if you're a god the answer is yes. On to the game.

You're a a proud underpaid member of the Buffalo Ghostbusters. You're current gig is to investigate pink snow that has started to appear along the Niagara River and get rid of the nastiest thing to ever come out of a Home Depot.

Descent: Journey In The Dark

Get ready to delve into the deep places of the world, fight for your life, kill the monsters, take their stuff, and this time the GM, or Overlord, is up front about trying to kill you. When that skeleton pops up behind you and stabs you in the gut you don't have to wonder if it was part of the module or the GM being mean. When you get disintegrated into a pile of ash you don't have to rage as much because you know it was all according to the rules. That's right. This ain't no D&D dungeon crawl ad hoc fiated game.

Magic the Gathering Friday Night Booster Draft

So I've been focusing on the RPG's up to this point but my next couple of posts will be about other types of games. For instance this one is about Magic the Gathering.

I started planning this convention roughly 6 months ago. We have 6 more months to go between now and the convention itself. I consider this to be the halftime report. We'll evaluate how we've been doing in the first half, make some adjustments, and come out swinging for a strong finish.

I'm just going to say a bunch of information about whats going on. Sorry for the lack of organization in these thoughts. Expect me to edit this later and put it into a more cohesive state.

Deadlands: The Heist

All right Pard, time to saddle up, get your six shooters, pray to your god for a miracle, find that deck of cards, get in touch with your inner Manitou, and head west. It's time for a little sojourn to the weird west or the Deadlands, as some like to call it.

Special Guest: Tracy Hurley

I've lined up our first special guest, Tracy Hurley

Stop Censorship

The Internet is a fantastic tool, and it is being threatened by special interest groups.

Please, Take Action.
